Promoting the SIOR European Conference
The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) hosted its European Conference in London on 23-24 June 2016 at the London Marriott Hotel.
The conference was aimed at investors, developers and consultants in commercial real estate from across the world, including members of the SIOR, RICS and IAMC.
Our role was to work with the committee to help attract delegates and sponsors, while also highlighting the quality of the conference and its speakers, which included Martin Wolf, Chief Economics Commentator at the Financial Times and John Smart, Program Director – Internet of Things Facilities and Real Estate at IBM.
SIOR was also celebrating its 75th anniversary, a key milestone and one it wanted to exploit.
Before the event, we secured a media partnership with Property Week, which included pre-event adverts online and in print, digital and print coverage.
We announced speakers, invited journalists from key titles and initiated a social media campaign complete with a hashtag for the event.
The conference happened to be taking place the day of and day after the EU Referendum, which we exploited for the benefit of SIOR.
We surveyed the delegates through a straw poll to identify how they would vote and issued this with other details about topics discussed. We then captured the sentiment following the UK vote, issuing this as a news release with quotes from delegates and securing coverage in titles such as The Wall Street Journal.
