Launching a new competition for UK real estate
CUBE is the UK’s first competition designed to reduce energy use in commercial buildings by changing behaviour. It helps occupiers, building managers and landlords introduce healthy competition and gamification, engaging building users in the process. This is an impact project we are hugely passionate about; we are proud to be part of the team that brought it to the UK market.
Hitting the ground running
Appointed with nine months to launch, we had to get to the heart of CUBE quickly, learning, questioning and understanding. We prepared the competition for launch and, at the same time, were instrumental in spreading the word to our network. This included developers, landed estates and occupiers.
This stage involved getting ready for launch. Setting the strategy, inputting into marketing materials, writing the dedicated website, creating the elevator pitch as well as planning for news announcements, social media content and thought leadership themes that would provide initial and ongoing exposure.
Going to market
We launched CUBE, on LinkedIn and Twitter, via the media and email marketing as well as securing interest from potential participants and endorsers via our extensive network. In short, managing the programme, pitching, convincing, enthusing, securing results.
The competition started in May 2022 and there is a stellar line up of early adopters including those from our network such as the Howard de Walden Estate, plus the likes of Landsec, Stanhope, Nuveen, Workspace, Savills and CBRE. Exposure has been substantial with media coverage in all key property titles as well as speaking platforms including one at an EG event at Cop26. We have also brought supporters and champions including the London Mayor’s office, Climate Champions/Race to Zero, UKGBC, SIOR and YEP, with endorsements gathered from Shirley Rodrigues, Deputy Mayor of London, and Climate Champion Nigel Topping. We continue to help spread the word.
